Sony is currently working on a mid-gen PlayStation update, the PS5 Pro, which is expected to launch in late 2024. That’s still a ways off, but we can’t help but speculate about what it might entail.
Currently, Sony has digital and drive-based models for the PlayStation 5, but it remains to be seen if the PS5 Pro will have multiple versions as well. It’s safe to assume that the PS5 Pro will have improvements in performance, speed, and visuals, but what else can we expect?

One significant upgrade that we’ve heard about is an increase in ray-tracing capabilities. This means that we can expect more realistic lighting and shadows in our games. Imagine playing your favorite games with even more immersive graphics and a more realistic environment. It’s definitely something to look forward to!
However, we should keep in mind that several updates of this new mid-generation console from Sony remain to be confirmed. It’s not a done deal yet, so we’ll have to wait and see if it’s really worth it and what new features it will bring us.
